Wolf shifter Randy Atkins, adopted son of Alphas Austin and CJ Force, passed the bar exam and intended to 'pay it forward' with his pack. Instead, he feels a desperate need to leave, but never anticipated cop Molly Barker careening into his life.
Molly's been trying to get her sister, famous actress Mary Ravenhall, to divorce her lowlife husband. Carter Ravenhall latched onto to Mary's rising star while they attended high school together. Just about the time Mary succeeds in shedding the snake with the help of new lawyer Phil Campbell (a Force family friend), a sniper shoots the women on Mary's estate.
Suspecting Carter's evil hand at work, Phil calls in the Force family to protect Molly and Mary and, when Randy lays eyes on Molly, his plans are thrown off course. When Mary dies and fate won't let Randy deny Molly, the couple unite to find Mary's killer, but theirs is no simple mating. Bestowed with unrequested gifts and talents, the pair work through the investigation and leap into a future neither could ever imagine.
This eighth and final book brings back all the series' characters in small and large parts. Prominently featured, 70-year old pack matriarch Nancy Force presents a whopping surprise to the close of the saga. It all culminates in the best epilogue I've read in 35 years and clouded my vision with copious tears. The Force family final installment showcases author Kathi Barton's beautiful talent at drawing readers into the very real worlds she creates. Brava!
loved it-wish it didnt have to end- 2nd generation spin off or vamp spin off -please!
ReplyDeleteI never know when a series is completely finished. When I was writing the Aaron's Kiss series, I thought it was finished at Bradley's book. That was number seven and number 14 in that series comes out in about a month. So, while I'm not promising a spin off or even another book, you never know with my muse. He's a crafty guy! I'm so glad you liked the series. I was worried about the ending. Poor Nancy.
