Memoirs of The Nightwolves Series is a paranormal adventure based on the Mayan Prophecy of Earth's Apocalypse. Special Forces and a Magickal Mercenary team join together forming the Nightwolves to deal with the events unfolding because of the coming prophecy. The natural disasters are opening portals that had been long closed by Ancients Gods and Goddesses who removed The Greater Magickal Races (vampires, werewolves, and dragons) from Earth millennia ago. Now with the polarity shift of Earth those portals the Greater Magickal Races were forced through are opening again and The Nightwolves have to try to make peace with the other races as they can, defend humans against those who won't, and save as many lives as possible when a natural disaster hits Urban fantasy lovers will enjoy the high-octane action and paranormal romance readers will be titillated by the alternative relationships of the main characters. The series takes readers too many other worlds to experience fantastical creatures and cultures of other humanoid beings that once had been a part of Earth in a far gone past; Beings and Magicks now relegated as nothing more than Myths and Legends by present-day standards. Alternative relationships and cultures are filled with a variety of dynamics and religions, both on Earth and on other worlds. Actual history, ancient myths and legends are interwoven with a cast of paranormal creatures, military Special Forces and a Coven of Demi-Gods and Goddesses. Current events are also used to drive the storyline along for high action adventure. This series is multi-layered for readers to enjoy either an alternate reality and/or learn exciting tidbits of real life history I’ve learned in studying Religious Theology. Writing Memoirs of The Nightwolves has been very fulfilling in being able to use my own personal experiences, with the many schools of learning and disciplines I have gained throughout my life. The alternate worlds I’ve created give a wide variety of action and romance to please just about any walk of life and touch the hearts of open-minded paranormal readers looking for something out of the ordinary. Volume two: Nightwolves on the Prowl...The Nightwolves, lead by Catrina and Captain O'Hara, find themselves on another planet. ~Band-Aids and Children~

My grandson Kelly was over last night and he had a moo-boo. I know, it’s a boo-boo, but he’s three.  It’s on his foot and was slightly infected – isn't that the norm for a kid? I think so. Anyway, I asked Daniy his mom about it and she said she washes it every night when he takes a bath, but he won’t let her fix it.  So I asked him if I could.  He gave me a very positive yes.

Now…I don’t know how it is at your house but mine is a grandma’s house.  I have every character Band Aid known to man and children kind.  For the girls I have Hello Kitty, Barbie, Dora, and all the other girly ones, even a pink camouflage.  For the boys, I have GI Joe, Lighting McQueen, SpongeBob, and green camouflage.  I should have bought into the stock when my first child told me they were expecting.

I go to my bathroom and pull out all the things I might need for any sort of contingency – short of open heart surgery.  I have a…okay, I have a large bag of tricks, Neosporin, peroxide, cotton balls, tape, scissors, and of course the burny stuff. (I’ve never actually used this on my grandchildren, but it gives my kids something to tell their kids about.  And no, no matter how many times they tell it, I did not pour it into open wounds just to hear them scream.)

While Kelly is telling me how he’s lost his narbles, (did I mention he’s three?) and he can’t find them, I clean his cut. It’s not really that bad, just a small cut on the side of his tiny toe.  After assuring him that the peroxide won’t hurt and that it will actually be cool, he lets me do my thing.  By the time his Uncle is finished telling him that Grandma has lost her narbles a long time ago and that he still loves me, I’m ready to put the Neosporin on the cut.  Paul may need the bigger bag of tricks later.

Kelly now has the task of picking out the perfect cover for his major wound.  He has to look through the boxes – all of them and see the brightly colored latex. He cannot just see what he could pull out of the box by looking at the cover, no he dumps them out.  One by one he discards different styles until he settles on a dark green camouflage one that is, while too big, will do the trick.  And, he explains, he needs yape (tape).  “It won’t falled off, grandma,” he tells me in his way too superior voice.

I was finished in record time. The entire process from cleaning to yapeing (taping) only took an hour.  He was very happy and with a bribe of chocolate chip cookies, he promised to leave it on until he got home.  I was pleased with my doctor duties and so apparently was Kelly.  He ‘allowed’ me to doctor three more of his moo-boos that he found.  Okay, two were scars and one of them was a freckle, but he was happy and today when I saw him, he still had the yape on his foot.  Mark one up for Doctor Grandma.

For the love of books: Interview with Young Adult Author Charlotte Blackw...

For the love of books: Interview with Young Adult Author Charlotte Blackw...: "Hi Charlotte, Welcome to For the Love Books Blog. I am excited to say you are my first young adult author I have had on my blog. Thank you..."

A great review about Devin Grant. Thanks to Vickie Ziemski and Goodreads.

What a FANTASTIC story. I literally couldn't put this one down and I had it read in an entire sitting. This has to be my favorite Grant Brothers book out of the two that have been released so far. Devin is a handsome lawyer with a quick temper, and Ronnie is a beautiful, intelligent, strong-willed law student, moonlighting as a waitress. When they meet, their worlds turn upside down. The connection between them is too strong to deny, though they both attempt it early on.

I really enjoy Barton's female characters, even though the series is written about a family of brothers. The woman in this novel is simply astounding. She came from an outrageously traumatic, broken past, and the details of the abuses she endured turned my stomach at some points. Yet, despite this tragic past and her mistrust of almost everyone but her friends Austin and Ben, she's developed into a fine young woman. She makes her own success by going to law school and working her way through it. She doesn't want to be a burden to anyone. I just truly enjoyed getting to know her, and I hope I see her further on throughout the series. I rooted for her even more than I did Morgan in the first book.

Devin and Ronnie's love is also so amazing--just a fairytale--after the rocky start, of course. Their passion and heat for one another is unmatched. The author has a ....way with words, I'll say... in describing the two of them together.

Great book from start to finish. Outrageous plot twist at the end that had me literally biting my nails. Couldn't put it down, and can't wait for the next Grant Brothers book!(less)

Fearless Heart by Gail Gurley

I love this story and can't thank the author enough for sending it to me. Its a great story of hardship of family and devotions of friendship. Of love and compassion and of unity in times of need. I would recommend this story for anyone who would love a good story.

Live Radio Talk Show Interview with Marsha Cook.

http://www.blogtalkradio.com/worldofinknetwork/2011/07/12/a-good-story-is-a-good-story-with-host-marsha-casper-cook

Time and what it means to me.

Time. We all watch it, most of us fight it, but we are as aware of it as we are our reflections in the mirror - again, most more than others.  History and ad-campaigns use time as an advertisement.  Movies, songs even Hallmark cards and others use the word. But I wonder about how we count time.

Sure there are seconds, minutes and hours. Even days, weeks, years, but I mean how do we mark it?  I use events in my life to mark the passing.  You know…Daniy turned two the year we moved to Dresden.  Jason burnt his hand the year we remolded the kitchen (necessity that, he nearly burnt down the kitchen). We moved to the house on Main Street the year Paul got the snot beat out of him by that boy.

There are other things too, marked by tragedy or mirth.  Hubby and I had to spend the night in a rest stop on our wedding night because when they decorated our car, they messed up something under the hood.  We consider that both, by the way.

But, no matter how much I try, I can’t think of a single thing that happened the years that my children were born.  Their birth and the beauty of it outweighs all else.

Paul is our oldest.  He is singly the oddest person I know.  With his wife, Dale and daughter Sarah he is loving, kind, funny and witty. His daughter is his image in mannerisms and speech.  She can cut you to the quick faster than a snake bite.  (She gets that from mom too.)  Paul makes me laugh at myself and he can make me feel loved and cherished faster than anyone I’ve ever know.

Jason, our second son is competitive.  I guess most of us are, but Jason makes me want to be better than I am. He has never made me feel as though I wasn’t good enough nor has he ever made me feel bad. In fact, Jason in his own way makes me feel better about myself than the rest of them.  His wife Wendy and children Trinny and Kian make him grin at stupid things. Kian is just like him, goofy and loving.  Trinny keeps him steady.  And Wendy loves him, that’s as important to me as my love for him.

Daniy. What can I say about my daughter?  She’s smart, loving, sarcastic, rude, humble, funny, artistic, talented, and wonderful and mine.  I see what I wish I was in her.  She has four children, Gavin and Kelly by birth and Bubby and Spring by marriage – though honestly I don’t think she sees the difference.  She loves them all as staunchly as a mother bear and her cubs.

The year I married my husband, Sonny is huge too. I can think of many things that happened in 1977. Our first apartment, our first jobs, buying household things all jockey for fond memories.  We purchased our big furniture – couch, bed, dressers.  All of our apartments until then had been furnished and we moved to a townhouse and had our own things.

So time.  How do I mark it?  With loving memories, deaths and births, tragedy and laughter.  I make more memories every day - every minute now it seems.  Some things I hold dearer than others but each one I can count on to make me remember other things.   The way it should be.

The grandkids make the marking time seem to go by faster for me.  But getting older isn’t as bad as I ever thought it would be. I have family and friends, love and laughter. I have things I never dreamed of having, a loving husband, children who respect me.

Nickolas Grant and Publishing

WEDNESDAY, MAY 18, 2011

Nickolas Grant
In just a few short weeks on June 15th, Nickolas - A Grant Brothers Novel will be out. I'm really excited because this will be my very first book in print. And I'm so happy to announce that World Castle Publishing has asked to publish Devin's story as well. There are six of these books, six brothers and their struggle with finding love and happiness.

I think my favorite, if an author can have one, is Jamie's story. Jamie and Dane have a very sensual and steamy romance that makes having a box of tissue close a necessity. And Pi! Oh, you'll love her!

Of course I love them all and each have a different place in my heart. I think that's why I was happy to have them with a publisher who shares my love of them. The people at World Castle have been wonderful and I'm very happy to be a part of their family. It's a really pleasure to work with someone like that.

Vamptasy Publishing is going to publish Divine Savior the second book in the Aaron's Kiss series. I have the first one out, it hit the market on April 30th, Blood, Body and Mind. It's the first book in a series about Aaron's Kiss, a Master vampire of a large realm. The second book, Divine Savior is coming out soon and it will be in print and released this summer. There are twelve of these books, all centered around Aaron and his love, Sara Temple.

My favorite in the Aaron's Kiss series is number six. I love Madison and Kyle. Maddy has a mouth on her that won't quit, which gets her into more trouble than her big bad vamp can keep up with. Also, she is very magical and has an in with the Fates.

I've been very fortunate in my writing. I only started writing because I wanted to relax. It was a way for me to have an outlet. It was a long time before I actually put my books out there for someone to read, much less publish. Charlotte Blackwell, a woman who has become a very good friend, read each of the stories and is the one who pushed the hardest for me to get them published.

I call her my own personal nag. She not only pushed me into finishing the second book in the Grant Brother's Series just for her to read, but she also nagged me to write the others as well. Then, when I finished I thought for sure she would be content, but no, not her. Within weeks of finishing them, she had me writing synopsis' and query letters. Good thing too, I have a publisher for them and couldn't be happier.

I will be posting more regularly now. I hope. Some days I get caught up in the stories and nothing else can penetrate my muse when he's on a roll. I will be keeping you posted on all my goings on too. Have a great weekend and I will be back next week.
